Yalwog (Japanese: シャングル, Shanguru) is an optional level in Lost Kingdoms that is found within the Kingdom of Wyht. It is home to the legendary Golden Phoenix.

This level is said to be the origin of all Fire creatures. The fearsome Red Dragon can be found here as a standard monster.

Yalwog is accessed from Ruh-Arok Temple via the Fire Door.

Summary[]

Upon collecting enough Fire attribute cards, Princess Katia opens the Fire Door of Ruh-Arok Temple. This took her to Yalwog, the home of the Golden Phoenix; one of the Four Sacred Beasts and the Lord of all Fire creatures. Once there, she found climbed a set of stairs and met with the phoenix. It asked for her to find and defeat the Demon Fox; an evil creature who had magically poisoned the waters of Yalwog, which left them pitch black and undrinkable.

Katia agreed to help the Golden Phoenix and began to travel towards the source of the black water. Just before reaching the water, she found a lore tablet describing the first part of a story on the origins of the world.

"In the Beginning, there was only the void. Out of the void, three gods appeared. They were the gods of Creation, Destruction, and Harmony. The gods created rock. The rock took shape, and became the Land. The void was a void no longer. The gods caused the Land to grow green; they created creatures of all shapes to live upon the Land. All, in the Beginning."

Further along, Katia found the Demon Fox in a pool of the black water. Although the terrain made it difficult to battle, she managed to do so and won. Afterwards, a rock nearby exploded, which allowed her to take a shortcut back to the Golden Phoenix. Katia went back and reported her victory, and the phoenix thanked her by giving her its card.

Layout[]

The level has four main areas and a central area housing the Golden Phoenix's temple. Katia must explore the area and look for the source of the Black Water that is ruining the area. Once she defeats the source of the water, she must speak to the Phoenix to end the level.
